AWS Debuts Claude Opus 4 and Sonnet 4 on Amazon Bedrock

AWS is announcing that Anthropic’s next generation of Claude models—Opus 4 and Sonnet 4—are now generally available in Amazon Bedrock. Underpinning Anthropic's advanced reasoning and agentic capabilities with Amazon Bedrock’s enterprise-grade security and responsible AI controls, developers can now enjoy instant access to Opus 4 and Sonnet 4.

“Amazon Bedrock expands your AI choices with Anthropic’s most advanced models, giving you the freedom to build transformative applications with enterprise-grade security and responsible AI controls,” said Sébastien Stormacq, principal developer advocate at AWS. “Both models extend what’s possible with AI systems by improving task planning, tool use, and agent steerability.”

Opus 4 and Sonnet 4 set new standards for coding, advanced reasoning, and AI agents. Opus 4—the most advanced model from Anthropic to date, according to the company—enables organizations to build sophisticated AI agents that can reason, plan, and execute complex tasks with minimal oversight. Sonnet 4 is designed to be complementary to Opus 4, offering balances in performance, responsiveness, and cost.
