Akka Empowers Trustworthy Agentic AI at Scale with Latest Offerings
Akka, the leader in helping enterprises deliver distributed systems, is announcing the Akka Agentic Platform, bolstered by a set of new capabilities designed to eliminate the risk and uncertainty associated with agentic AI systems. Enabling organizations to build, run, and evaluate agentic systems at scale with 3x velocity at one-third of the cost of other solutions, Akka’s latest offering promotes powerful, trustworthy AI.
Central to this release is the ongoing uncertainty and distrust facing many enterprises as they deploy agentic AI systems. New behaviors born from agentic AI, such as non-deterministic decision making and context-sensitive reasoning, introduce a plethora of risk and unpredictability, making it difficult to implement at scale for business-critical use cases, according to Akka.
To address these challenges, the Akka Agentic Platform delivers four new solutions: Akka Orchestration, Akka Agents, Akka Memory, and Akka Streaming, each engineered to provide IT leaders with complete certainty as they maintain and manage agentic AI, Akka explained. These new offerings do not limit the sort of agentic system the user wants to create, whether autonomous, adaptive, real-time, or edge, enabling the creation of solutions such as:
- Intelligent AI automation
- Autonomous AI
- Adaptive AI (dynamically changing goals)
- Ambient AI (passive background AI for monitoring)
- Multi-modal (audio, video, and edge IoT metrics)
- Transactional AI
- Digital twins
- Analytics AI
Examining each solution more granularly, the Akka Agentic Platform includes:
- Akka Orchestration: Enables users to guide, moderate, and control multi-agent systems with sequential, parallel, hierarchical, and human-in-the-loop workflows, which can be further embedded with a registry for agent, tool, API, and resource governance.
- Akka Agents: Create goal-directed agents, MCP tools, and HTTP/gRPC APIs that reason, act, and analyze, which can be integrated with any third-party broker, agent, or system.
- Akka Memory: Provides durable, in-memory, and sharded data for agent context, history retention, and personalized behavior, paired with nano-second writes and replication for failover while supporting both short-term and long-term memory.
- Akka Streaming: High-performance stream processing, including continuous processing, aggregation, and augmentation of live data, metrics, audio, and video; streams can be ingested from any source and stream between agents, Akka services, and the outside world.
“Agentic systems are forcing IT leaders to rethink their technology stack,” said Tyler Jewell, Akka’s CEO. “IT systems must adapt from controlling predefined workflows to managing intelligent, adaptive systems operating in open-ended environments that include non-deterministic LLMs. Scaling these systems and providing dependable outputs is a tremendous challenge and redefines the meaning of an SLA. Akka is unique in that we’re bringing IT the tools to solve this issue at enterprise scale, with enterprise confidence.”
