Cequence Launches the ‘AI Easy Button’ for Secure Enablement at Scale

Cequence Security, a pioneer in API security and bot management, is debuting a new solution for enabling real-time API connectivity between AI agents and enterprise applications, dubbed the Cequence AI Gateway. Expediting and securing the way enterprises enable AI interactions, the Cequence AI Gateway bridges the gap between AI and apps without expanding the attack surface.

Amid the rush for AI implementation, enterprises inadvertently expose themselves to risk while outpacing the skills of their developers. Without the proper tools or experience needed, AI initiatives face insecure deployment that will likely create more problems than they solve.

For example, when an AI agent within an application helps front-end users with various tasks—such as finding the right size and brand of T-shirt at a clothing store—the AI refers to a database of information to answer that question accurately. Then, as Shreyans Mehta, chief technology officer at Cequence Security, explained, “For an agent to be able to intelligently answer those questions, it needs to connect [back to the] APIs. So there needs to be a translation layer on how an agent can talk to these back-end applications.”

The Cequence AI Gateway is the “missing layer” between AI agents and enterprise applications and APIs, enforcing real-time security policies that protect data and reel in AI behavior. The gateway converts any API into an MCP (Model Context Protocol)-compatible endpoint without any code, then provides AI agents with real-time access to any internal, external, or SaaS application.

Effectively, the gateway acts as an “AI easy button,” enabling seamless access between agentic AI and applications without the excessive time or cost drains associated with up-skilling, coding, QA, integration, and more. Additionally, with robust support for MCP, Cequence offers support for current and future agentic AI models, ensuring that AI Gateway scales with evolving AI standards, according to the company.

“The enterprise race to adopt agentic AI is happening fast, but the infrastructure to support it hasn’t caught up," said Ameya Talwalkar, CEO of Cequence Security. “Most organizations connect AI agents to critical systems without security, oversight, or context. leaving them exposed to abuse, data leakage, and compliance risks. With AI Gateway, Cequence delivers both sides of the equation: open, seamless access for AI agents, and the enterprise-grade security, governance, and visibility that leaders need to trust this next wave of automation.”

Outside of this efficiency gain, the Cequence AI Gateway emphasizes the importance of security, securing both public-facing and internal applications. The gateway expands agent automation capabilities while ensuring compliance and data protection, including support for OAuth 2.0 IdP, paired with built-in controls that drive fast enablement and ROI.

“With this single solution, you can enable and protect your application at the time, which is effectively secure enablement of your AI,” noted Mehta.

“This launch is a natural evolution of our Unified API Protection platform,” Mehta continued. “We’ve engineered the AI Gateway to transform any application or API into an MCP-compatible endpoint, with real-time enforcement policies baked in. It’s built to meet developers where they are, while giving security teams the control they need. It’s not just about enabling agentic AI; it’s about enabling it responsibly at scale.”
