VAST Data and Cisco Collaborate to Offer a Robust Foundation for Delivering Generative and Agentic AI at Scale
VAST Data, the AI Operating System company, is announcing the expansion of its strategic partnership with Cisco, delivering a turnkey platform for building enterprise AI Factories—or agentic, data-intensive AI systems at scale. With security, performance, and operational agility at the forefront, VAST and Cisco’s partnership aims to merge the companies’ individual strengths to better fuel enterprise’s AI strategies.
This expansive collaboration delivers a fully integrated and validated AI infrastructure stack, covering a variety of functions such as compute, networking, storage, and observability. VAST and Cisco aim to streamline how enterprises implement, operate, and scale modern AI environments, underpinned by the seamless procurement and deployment of VAST AI OS alongside Cisco UCS servers, Nexus switching, and Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric AI.
As a result, customers can unify data pipelines, automate infrastructure management, and leverage a scalable, zero-trust AI infrastructure powered by real-time data. This serves as a robust foundation for customers to power complex, data-driven applications—as well as generative and agentic AI workloads—with the performance, insight, and operational controls these applications require to succeed.
“Cisco and VAST share a vision for making AI infrastructure accessible, secure, and scalable for every enterprise,” said Jeremy Foster, senior vice president and general manager, Cisco Compute. “We’re enabling customers to collapse complexity and unlock faster time-to-value by providing a unified infrastructure stack built for the demands of AI.”
The joint solution integrates several key technologies, beginning with a jointly validated, enterprise-grade platform that merges the strengths of Cisco’s compute and networking expertise with VAST’s AI Operating System. This delivers a full-stack solution for AI infrastructure that is not only simple to deploy, but seamless to manage and scale.
Additionally, this partnership features an integration of AI Execution with InsightEngine and AgentEngine, allowing customers to run end-to-end AI pipelines, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to real-time reasoning, from directly within VAST’s AI OS on Cisco UCS. This drives accelerated vector search, data preparation, and inference workflows at the point of data, as well as autonomous agent orchestration designed to continuously improve live data streams.
Other integrations and offerings include:
- Unified AI data and compute services delivered via the VAST AI Operating System, easing infrastructure complexity by unifying structured, unstructured, and vector data management with agentic compute services—which further enables real-time reasoning at scale
- Enterprise-grade performance and scalability through Cisco UCS and scalable, AI-optimized network fabrics via Cisco Nexus, each assured to operate seamlessly with VAST’s Disaggregated Shared Everything (DASE) architecture
- Turnkey automations that accelerate time-to-value by combining Cisco Nexus Hyperfabric AI’s SaaS-based orchestration and lifecycle management with VAST’s intelligent dataflows and global namespace, serving to streamline infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and scaling across the entire AI pipeline
- Built-in security and multi-tenant readiness with a zero-trust infrastructure model that merges VAST’s native data governance and multi-tenant controls with Cisco’s secure platform architecture
“This partnership represents the convergence of two best-in-class platforms to create a foundational blueprint for enterprise AI,” said Renen Hallak, founder and CEO at VAST Data. “By aligning the VAST AI OS with Cisco’s UCS and Nexus infrastructure, we’re delivering the turnkey simplicity, observability, and scalability that enterprises need to deploy and manage intelligent systems globally.”
