Vellum Secures $20M in Recent Funding Round to Bring Reliability to Enterprise AI Development

Vellum, a leading enterprise development platform for building, testing, and deploying mission-critical AI products, announced it raised $20 million in a recent Series A funding round, enabling the company to accelerate product development and expand into new verticals and global markets.

Vellum plans to use the Series A funding to continue building its best-in-class platform for AI development and expand its go-to-market presence globally, according to the company.

The round was led by Leaders Fund, with participation from Socii Capital and returning investors Y Combinator, Rebel Fund, Pioneer Fund, and Eastlink Capital.

The partnership with Leaders Fund, recognized for its deep expertise in enterprise go-to-market, will be instrumental in bringing Vellum’s AI development platform to more organizations worldwide.

“Generative AI has captured the imagination of nearly every industry, but turning that potential into reliable, production-ready systems remains a massive challenge,” said Akash Sharma, co-founder and CEO at Vellum. “For many teams, it still feels like guesswork. Vellum changes that. We provide the infrastructure that brings rigor, predictability and repeatability to AI development, so teams can build with confidence and scale with clarity.”

As part of the Series A announcement, the Vellum platform is officially GA and available for teams ready to move beyond prototyping.

The platform equips cross-functional teams with a centralized control panel to orchestrate end-to-end AI workflows by connecting models, tools and business data in one place to streamline the path to production.

By coupling workflow orchestration, evaluations and testing, deployment and monitoring in one platform, Vellum enables organizations to build complex AI systems that output reliable results.

Vellum helps teams overcome the core challenges of getting AI out of prototyping and into the hands of users. The platform enables:

  • AI workflow definition: A visual UI builder and SDK let teams map, test, and refine AI logic. Engineers and non-technical experts can collaborate side by side.
  • End-to-end evaluation: A robust testing suite catches failures and edge cases before they reach production.
  • Safe deployments: Push updates and publish new versions without risky redeploys. Vellum enables precise version control, even in highly complex environments.
  • Live monitoring and continuous improvement: Real-time observability reveals how systems behave in the real world, with live feedback loops that inform testing directly.

With explainable workflows and shared controls, Vellum makes it easy for engineers and domain experts to collaborate, so teams can build smarter, more reliable AI systems together, the company said.
