Vultr’s $3.5B Valuation Supercharges its Global Cloud and AI Infrastructure
Vultr, the world’s largest privately held cloud infrastructure company, is announcing the completion of its growth financing at a total valuation of $3.5 billion. This funding round—which was led by LuminArx Capital Management and AMD Ventures—will serve Vultr’s mission of being the AI infrastructure and cloud computing partner of choice for enterprises and AI innovators around the world, according to the company.
Vultr offers global, automated cloud infrastructure from a wide range of AMD and NVIDIA GPUs to virtual CPUs, bare metal, Kubernetes, storage, and networking solutions. Emphasizing scalability, global reach, compliance, and excellent price-to-performance for AI infrastructure and cloud computing, Vultr aims to support the AI era with its independent, full-stack platform.
"Building upon the foundation created by David Aninowsky [founder and executive chairman of Vultr], Vultr has become the leading cloud infrastructure alternative to traditional hyperscalers,” said J.J. Kardwell, CEO of Vultr. “As we continue our global expansion, LuminArx’s collaborative, innovative approach and AMD’s strategic impact enable Vultr to further accelerate growth in AI infrastructure and cloud computing, creating the category-defining independent cloud infrastructure company.”
With its latest infusion of capital, Vultr plans to expand its global cloud GPU fleet—which currently resides at 32 cloud data center regions across six continents—as well as further solidify its position as an enabler of AI-native applications and accessible, global cloud infrastructure.
“We are excited to partner with Vultr to accelerate the growth of a standout leader in the cloud infrastructure industry,” said Tanisha Keshava Bellur, partner at LuminArx. “Among the many management teams and companies we’ve evaluated in the AI infrastructure space, Vultr distinguishes itself through exceptional leadership, outstanding execution, and a proven track record of delivering high-performance cloud infrastructure for over a decade.”
“Vultr’s deep experience delivering secure, compliant, and scalable cloud infrastructure and their deployment of AMD Instinct accelerators positions them as an innovative cloud solutions provider,” said Mathew Hein, senior vice president and chief strategy officer of corporate development at AMD. “We share Vultr’s mission to empower enterprises and AI innovators with unparalleled access to high-performance compute for AI model development and deployment and are proud to support their growth.”
