Postman Integrates Anthropic’s Claude on Amazon Bedrock to Support Developers Across AI-Native API
Postman, a leading API platform used by more than 40 million developers and 500,000 organizations, announced that Claude, Anthropic's AI model, now powers Postman's Agent Mode. With this integration developers can also access their Postman workspaces directly from Anthropic's developer tools, bringing API context into their AI-powered coding workflows.
Together, Postman and Anthropic are now giving developers a faster, smarter way to work across the full API lifecycle, built right into the tools they already use, according to Postman.
"Postman is where APIs are built, tested, and managed. Now it's where AI-native development happens too,” said Postman co-founder and CEO Abhinav Asthana. “Claude was the clear choice to power Agent Mode. Its coding performance and enterprise track record are unmatched, and Bedrock gives our customers the security and reliability they demand. The results speak for themselves: users engaging with Agent Mode show consistently higher usage, which tells us this is changing how developers work.”
Agent Mode is an AI-native assistant built directly into Postman and powered by Claude as the default model provider on Amazon Bedrock from Amazon Web Services (AWS), giving enterprises Claude's performance with the security, compliance, and governance controls they require, Postman said.
Unlike standalone AI tools, Agent Mode has the full context of a developer's workspace, collections, environments, tests, and underlying code, reducing manual work while maintaining organizational standards. Claude’s reasoning helps Agent Mode interpret API schemas and design patterns, allowing Agent Mode to intelligently generate, test, and maintain APIs.
With Agent Mode, developers can:
- Generate API collections, tests, and documentation from an OpenAPI spec
- Debug failing requests by identifying errors, updating tests, and rerunning tests in minutes
- Keep Git, collections, and specs in sync without manual overhead
- Onboard new developers faster by surfacing which APIs to use and how they relate
- Access AWS MCP servers directly within Postman without switching tools
Amazon Bedrock provides the secure, enterprise-ready foundation that makes Agent Mode viable at scale. By running Claude through Amazon Bedrock, Postman customers benefit from centralized access controls, policy enforcement, auditability, and the reliability AWS customers depend on for production workloads—so organizations can deploy Agent Mode with confidence knowing their data and governance requirements are met from day one, said the companies.
Postman's Claude Code plugin, Claude.ai MCP connector, and Cowork skill let developers bring Postman's API context directly into their agentic coding workflows. From within Claude developers can:
- Search across Postman workspaces to find APIs, collections, and environments instantly
- Generate idiomatic client code from private APIs
- Run API tests and catch issues before they reach production
- Create mock servers and audit API security
- Keep Postman collections in sync with their codebase
"Developers at the world's largest companies already rely on Claude to build faster and more reliably. Postman is where many of those developers manage their APIs—having Claude power those workflows was a natural next step,” said Sam Werboff, head of enterprise tech GTM, Anthropic.
